Buongiorno tutti!!! (Good morning everyone!)
This week was a little crazy with transfers, but I am so contenta (content; happy) with my new collega! Sorela Barazoto was a little apprehensive about two Italian companions, but that is what she asked for, I know she is going to be just fine. We met with several members so that she could say goodbye, and it laid a lot of good groundwork for Sorella Hansen and I to go back and meet with people.
There have been so many miracles in the last three days, I can tell that Heavenly Father wants to show me what happens when we are obedient. We went out finding Friday night, and Sorella Hansen talks to EVERYONE. She doesn't let them get away either. She is so happy and energetic that people just end up kind of laughing and get curious as to who the heck we are. SO we met this girl named Giulia, we had wandered into a little art display near the lungo mare (boardwalk), and there was this cute 20-something girl who just kept looking at us, and then read our name tags...and then she came up to us and asked us what they said and who we are. We explained it to her, and I had a BoM in my hand and she was all "what's this?" and pulled it from me. We explained it to her a little bit and then told her that we could explain more, that is what we are here for, so she gave us her phone number and then walked over to a group of her friends and started showing it to them. SO COOL. And there was a MARRIED couple we ran into who we invited to English course, and then talked with for like twenty minutes. They were so interested in our message, and they love that we have big families, they want a family really badly but they can't have kids, and they want to know why we are so happy, "visto oggi come oggi" (the state of the world today) kind of thing. It was awesome.
I am doing really well, and I am starting my study of charity this transfer. I am excited to see what situation the Lord gives me to apply what I learn. I am doing much better than I thought I would training my comp and the anziani on the city, since I was only here one transfer...but I know a lot more than I thought I would. It is also really nice to have a companion who is at the same level as me with the language. Sorella Hansen is a fireball! We are so excited for this transfer and for all the miracles Heavenly Father has in store for us!
I love you all! Thank you for your continued love and support! I am so happy to be in the service of the Lord, and so humbled to be an instrument that He has chosen to help "bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man." Buona settimana! (Have a good week!)
Love,
Sorella Decker

Also, we had ward council yesterday! it was incredible, it feels so good to be on the same page as the ward finally. They are working with the stake to open a branch in Latina, which is at the southern end of our ward boundaries. It takes two hours by bus, so we are not allowed to go out there right now because it is expensive in travel...but bishop said that they will help to cover our travel costs. His words were along the lines of "lets not let money keep the work of the Lord form progressing and those people receiving the gospel." They want us to be out there once a week to start building a teaching pool, and to follow up with old contacts and inattivi (inactives). And they are going to find a hotel to do sacrament meeting out there once a month. They gave us a fixed date to do activities once a month for missionary purposes, and they want to do a mostra once a week with as many members as possible here in Ostia. It was AWESOME!!
