Week 41: Pictures and stuff cuz I don't feel like writing...

Emailed April 7th:

No one panic, I am totally wonderfully fine....I just have zero energy to write any email things. so its highlights and pictures this week!

  • For pday we went bowling....for anyone who knows me. it was not the best (I scored a 65. oops). We also played some mad foosball with the Ladispoli sorelle, it was a lot of fun.
  • I got to see Alessandra on Tuesday! She came to Ostia and did our district meeting with us. We went to sushi afterward, which was delish. It was so good to see her, she leaves on Thursday for the MTC in Madrid Spain and then two weeks later reports to the mission there! I am so proud of her, she is going to be the BEST missionary. Ti voglio bene, Ale! In bocca!!!!
  • Wednesday was April Fools...the zone leaders called and told me that I was getting emergency transferred because some sister had broken her leg, and that I needed to be at the train station at 7:30 the following morning. It was like ten and we had had a very busy day, and I didn't even realize that it was April Fools. So I (obviously) start crying and hand the phone to my companion, throw myself on my bed for a few seconds to sob about how much I am going to miss the people here that I love so much, and then pull my suitcases out. Then I went back into the kitchen and the zone leaders asked to be put on speaker....and yell "APRIL FOOL'S!!!!!!!!!!" really loudly. I was FURIOUS. I have forgiven them, but I won't think it is funny till I get home. Also, one of my zone leaders knows one of my roommates from BYU, Breanna Brown. We took a selfie for her, Anziano Kelley has it.
  • Thursday morning we did a mostra with gesso about general conference and talked to people about prophets. Has anyone ever realized how AWESOME it is that we get to sit and listen to the prophet for a whole weekend?! I love conference. It was sooooo good. It made for a very stressful weekend, but it was also very spiritually fulfilling.
  • Friday we went to Nettuno again to see Ivano! he is finally out of the hospital and we were able to take the train to go see him. He is doing well. We taught about the plan of salvation, and then he started asking questions about the authority of the priesthood and how baptisms work. We explained it all to him and he said he wants to understand more about the authority, and we recommitted him to be baptized on the 25th of April, assuming he decides that the church is true. Super duper exciting! Then we had exchanges with the sister training leader. I went to Roma 2 and the STL took my spot in Ostia for the day. It was nice, there wasn't any way I could do anything about all the stuff we had to do in Ostia (we have been BUSY), so I just had to relax. And Sorella DeFranchi is super cool, she actually was born in America but grew up in France. It was fun to work with her for a bit :)
  • Saturday we went into Rome to watch general conference. I needed it. I have been sooooo stressed out, so it was nice just to have a spiritual recharge.
  • Sunday we were going to go to a member's house for pranzo for Easter, but we cancelled and just ate sandwiches at the church between conference sessions because there were a bunch of people who told us that they would come....and never showed up. So that was disappointing.
  • Monday was Pasquetta, which means little Easter. Still not sure what that is all about, but we had to deep clean the apartment and then we went to dinner at Barbara's house. It was so nice to have a mom-cooked meal, they just taste better.
  • Today we went to Ostia Antica (pday got moved because of the Holiday), and then we played beach volleyball. The slowdown is probably going to take a toll on our work, but I have needed it, I was super stressed out this week and the end of last week. Sometimes it just hits you how much depends on you as a missionary...it's these people's salvation, and if I don't do my best then they might never have the chance to make it to the celestial kingdom. I am so grateful that God is merciful and doesn't let my weaknesses as a missionary interfere with His plan for His children.
Transfer calls come on Saturday, so if you were going to send any mail (coughcoughsendmemailcough), send it to the office ;)

That is about it! Enjoy the pictures!
Love,
